To highlight the best e-learning practices in Russia, E-learning world magazine developed the award Russian e-learning Awards, to recognize and honor the best representatives and solutions in e-learning in Russia.

The first 6-nominations’ award ceremony took place on May, 28th 2004 at E-learn Expo 2004 closure. Computer training Centre “Specialist” won The Best academic e-learning implementation award, which is considered the most significant.

1st Moscow international Conference and Expo “Online Learning” was staged on 27-28 May 2004 at International Trade Centre. Expo presented the latest results and achievements in online learning corporate and personal solutions, as well as new training technologies to introduce at schools and higher education departments. Elearn Expo has been successfully held in Paris, Amsterdam, Vienna since 2001. This year it came to Russia.

More than 80 companies from Russia, Great Britain, France, USA, Hungary, Israel - IBM, Cisco Systems, Oracle, EMEA, Skillsoft, Thomson NET. - came to feature their new products. Training Centre “Specialist” took an active part both in expo and in the conference. New distance learning project of Bauman Training and more than 100 online courses were presented at the Centre booth. Sosin Alexey, distance learning manager of the Training Centre “Speialist” took part in the conference and spoke on “Complex approach to corporate training delivery, effective way of staff knowledge and skills management”.
